A decision that was initially ridiculed, but has ensured the company’s continued existence to this day. But the company’s history began long before 1986. Kruse cigars were mentioned as early as 1842. In 1904 it officially became an OHG with offices in Berlin, Hamburg and Mannheim. Eventually Walter Messmer bought the company, so the Messmer little cigars are known today under the name Messmer. The company has been family-owned ever since. Throughout history, many challenges have had to be mastered. The war years and changes in the market were not easy, but Messmer little cigars survived all of this, found their niche and are still on the market today. The company’s headquarters are currently in the picturesque town of Tengen, and 40 employees are responsible for creating delicious Messmer little cigars in new premises.

Many German tobacco companies converted to machine production in the 1960s. They no longer used 100 percent tobacco. The company Kruse and Messmer stayed true to themselves and always focused on good quality and 100% tobacco. She knew that quality and the spirit of innovation ultimately prevailed.
