Handelsgold little cigars are price-conscious
From the traditional German brand, there are not only commercial gold cigars, but also Handelsgold little cigars. Finding a clear demarcation is sometimes not easy, as the entire range of Handelsgold is machine-made. We have simply differentiated according to size and the smaller formats, and those that commonly go away as “cigarillos” have been classified in this category.
Handelsgold little cigars are price-conscious and are probably also for traditional smokers. As already described, it concerns machine-made products “Made in Germany” which has stood for quality and price consciousness for decades. In the meantime, there are also some flavored cigarillos in the range of the traditional brand.
No cigar brand is as closely associated with the German post-war period as the commercial gold. The father of the economic miracle Ludwig Erhard already appreciated this. More than 50 years later, the brand continues to set (smoke) signs. With the usual quality and for really little money, Handelsgold lets even the proverbial little man experience the enjoyment of a cigar.
The manufacturer company was founded in Osnabrück in 1817 and is therefore one of the pioneers in the German tobacco trade. According to the guild, this company was also relocated to Bünde in 1851. The small east Westphalian town north of Bielefeld is the traditional home town of German cigar production and is still the seat of the most important producers. Arnold André particularly benefited in post-war Germany from the ban on machines for the production of cigars, which had been lifted in 1933, and so production increased steadily. It is therefore no wonder that not only did the cigar become a symbol of a resurgence of prosperity, but also the trading gold cigars were at the forefront of this development. As a result, a new factory was built in Osterholz-Scharmbeck, while the company headquarters remained in Bünde. The economic success also enabled them to buy and take over several tobacco companies.

The names have changed somewhat in recent years, due to EU guidelines; the flavorings may no longer be given with the fruit name. Sweet Strawberry became Simt, for example, Bright Red or Vanilla simply became Blonde.
